Nobody cares if your coffee is aromatic enough It's a surprise pity party That keeps not surprising anyone She's cursed to forever having to Walk these here wretched parts Stuck waiting for bad news In a room reeking of rotting teeth The spaniel won't return to save you Black All black Only He failed her Might as well have dropped the axe himself You made a stain on the rug You made a stain on the goddamn rug You reduced her to a Mere stain on her precious rug Send me a pretty postcard with a list of all The things you want me to regret Smitten by your sense of theatrics Just throw on a boa and Let's be on our way Send me a vibrant photo of Everything you want me to forget After he knocked you up You suddenly found yourself in the third trimester Silently and violently Wishing for him to punch you in the tummy A bottle of pills Didn't do the job for him either It did liberate that other girl though Still infested Still sentenced to care Bed held together by Duct tape and nails Rotten juices Dissolving linnen Once she blows it's all over Please Someone Close both the lids Please

Aros XII 02:14

about

The very first thing my mother ever taught me as I was a child: if you're not THERE on Bandcamp Fridays, you're NOWHERE. Thusly I present to you CAKE, because what else would I do.

"CAKE" consists of a cover song and two b-sides.

"Only a John Doe" is originally written by Danish solo artist Decort, and I somehow ended up having to cover it for a competition back in 2008. He did not like my take on it. Sorry not sorry about that, buddy.

“Black Spaniel” is a previously unreleased b-side from the “Petting Zoo” sessions. It was intended as the tenth song on that album, but in the very end it didn't make the cut. Maybe the song got cursed because I played guitar on it, while none of the other PZ songs feature guitar at all.

“Aros XII” is an absolutely terrible title, but this song just never got a proper title. It's another b-side, this time from the “Thrive in Ashes” sessions. It features my dearly and missed old tank of a pump organ. It weighed an actual (not actual) ton and I still fail to understand how I managed to drag that honking, dusty monstrosity around with me from flat to flat throughout my twenties. Thigh slaps and foot stomps aplenty too in this song.

Happy Bandcamp Friday to all!
